The first ever Berry Festival in Pridnestrovie!

The year 2019 is not only a year of new products but also a year of new events for the project “Buy Pridnestrovian!”

So today on June 1 the first Berry Festival in the republic was held in the “Pobeda” capital park. Many would question why “berry” and why exactly on June 1 on Children’s Day? The answer to this question is both simple and complex.

Its primary goal is to expand production, increase sales and expand the range of berries grown in Pridnestrovie, promote locally produced berries in the domestic market and inspire interest from retailers and the citizens.

The second goal the organizers set was  to unite producers of fresh berries and enterprises engaged in processing of berry products: canning (jams, marmalade, fruit butter, jelly), the production of beverages and juices, confectionery using berries and also the final consumer – people.

And the third goal is to remind people their childhood.  The long-awaited summer vacation time that smells compotes and jams, patties and dumplings, pies and cakes that’s been made from fresh berries so cherishingly by your grandma. Besides we should not forget that berries are not only an excellent delicacy but also an excellent natural medicine.

This day many citizens and guests of Tiraspol came to create their own “berry mood”. Everybody was welcomed in the morning by the orchestra of the General Staff of the Pridnestrovian Armed Forces.

So the park area was full of  music, joy, impish children’s laughter, balloons, the smell of fresh backings and ice cream. Today, as expected, the residents and guests of the republic met with strawberries, cherries and other berries manufacturers who came from different regions of Pridnestrovie. Confectionery masters craftsmen and garment workers, as well as honey producers were presented as well. Even manufacturers of semi-finished meat products and clothing did not want to stay on the sidelines – their enterprises also offered their products to festival visitors. In total, about 50 enterprises and entrepreneurs were attracted to participate in the festival.

It is worth noting that all participants were awarded certificates of participants of the first Berry Festival.

And during the whole day everyone could take master classes from the event company Lukomorye, do some work on the potter’s wheel with Galina Kharchenko, learn curving along with professionals from the Tiraspol technical college of commerce, paint with colored sand on a sidewalk with Kirill Sarsakov, take some photos in the berries photo zones and participate in an Instagram photo contest.

We very much hope that the first berry Festival will be remembered for a long time in the memory of all visitors, especially children. Hopefully it has brought benefits and new contacts to the enterprises participating in it, and that the festival will become a good tradition and will make “berry” friends every year.
