Meeting with representatives of political and economic department of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova

On April 21 heads of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pridnestrovie have held a meeting with representatives of political and economic department of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova Samuel Mikelson and James Stewart. For Samuel Mikelson it is not the first visit to Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pridnestrovie.

At the beginning of the meeting, he informed that in the coming months will leave Moldova due to his transfer to another country. His place will work, James Stewart, in whose responsibility zone participating in the negotiations on Pridnestrovie in the 5 + 2 format. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the situation in economic sphere of Pridnestrovie. Visit is primarily connected with it.

The president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yury Ganin has greeted guests and has covered the current economic situation of the republic then he has answered the questions interesting the guests.

During discussion the subjects connected with transition to a new trade regime with the countries of the European Union and also influence of external factors, including devaluations, on trade were in more detail discussed with east partners and difficulties in trade between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

Answering the question of the American side about cooperation opportunities between business of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, vice-president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vasily Kozhan has designated that the existing legislation of the Republic of Moldova does not allow cooperating on mutually advantageous conditions, and at times excludes any opportunities of such cooperation. In completion of a meeting parties have agreed about continuation of open dialogue in the future. Guests have expressed gratitude for provided information about Pridnestrovian business. Heads of CCI have invited the Ambassador and other representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova to visit the IV Pridnestrovian Investment and Economic Forum.
