Meeting between the leadership of CCI of Pridnestrovie and representatives of the EUBAM

Today, on January 27, at the branch of CCI of Pridnestrovie in Bendery leadership of CCI of Pridnestrovie has met with representatives of the European Union Border Assistance Mission delegation to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM).

EUBAM mission representatives: Slawomir Pichor – Head Office EUBAM in Moldova; Agnieszka Wawrzyk -Head of department of Pridnestrovie conflict settlement and Cornelia Stratan – assistant head of the department on Pridnestrovie settlement were asked to describe the state of trade relations of Pridnestrovie, represent activities of CCI of Pridnestrovie and describe expected changes in the economy.

Slawomir Pichor also interested what customs barriers affect the increase in exports of Pridnestrovian enterprises. Yury Ganin said that the past year remained negative trends in the economy for a variety of internal and external causes, but 2017 year is characterized by favorable internal atmosphere and the high expectations of positive changes. The current year has been declared in Pridnestrovie “Year of the entrepreneur” and CCI is actively involved in the development of measures for its implementation. In April we will hold a “Forum of small business”. Answering a question on the development of trade between the two banks of the Dniester, Yurii Ganin said that “trade relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova should be formalized and be conducted according to agreed rules and standards. Without these aspects, there are no prospects of cooperation between the business structures on both banks of the Dniester”.

Also Agnieszka Wawrzyk asked how CCI of Pridnestrovie estimate the joint Moldovan-Ukrainian border control point in Kuchurgan, but the leadership of CCI PMR gave negative assessment with the explanation of the reasons for a large number of negative consequences of this decision.

At the end of the meeting the guests thanked for the given information. Slawomir Pichor noted that if companies will have complaint to the customs authorities, should report these problems EUBAM office.
