The Government received a delegation from Italy

The delegation of business representatives of the Italian Republic has visited Pridnestrovie. The main purpose of the visit is acquaintance with the agro-industrial complex of the republic and to draw up plans for mutual cooperation.

At the house of the Government guests met with Acting First Deputy Prime Minister Alevtina Slinchenko, Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik and president of the Chamber of Commerce Yury Ganin.

The Italian side was represented by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the province of Pesaro-Urbino Alberto Drudi, the representative of the textile and banking sector Milan Maristella Miatello and representative of Italian company “Diletta” Mauro Murgia.

Welcoming foreign colleagues, Alevtina Slinchenko drew attention to some of the indicators of foreign economic activity  between economic agents of Pridnestrovie  and the Italian partners.

“Today, Pridnestrovie foreign trade turnover with the Italian Republic is more than $ 60 million. And the best part is export operations with Italian partners”, – said the first deputy Chairman of the Government.

She also noticed that the republic is facing important challenges as improving the investment attractiveness and increase business activity. She expressed the hope that today’s meeting will be an excellent basis for further development of relations between Pridnestrovie and Italy.

In turn, the head of the Italian delegation Alberto Drudi, thanked for the warm reception and the opportunity to meet with representatives of the business community of Transnistria. He said that Italian businessmen have great interest in developing relations with Pridnestrovian colleagues.

During the meeting, we spoke about the issues of modernization and using of new digital technologies in production. The understanding has been reached in some areas of activity.

Alberto Drudi said that meeting was productive. He thought it is possible to develop cooperation in following areas: food processing, metalworking and mechanical engineering.

“In agriculture sector, we have to understand what technologies are needed, and what we can develop together. We are very interested in the development of furniture and everything connected with the sector of the furniture industry. In our region, this industry is very well developed”, – explained the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Italian province of Pesaro-Urbino.

During the visit to Pridnestrovie Italian delegation will also meet with the leadership of the Ministry of Economic Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Chamber of Commerce. The guests will visit the large enterprises of the republic, such as “Elektromash”, “Kvint”, “Tirotex” a number of shoe factories.
