Two-day Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum

For the last two days, the sixth Pridnestrovian International Investment and Economic Forum took place in Tiraspol.

More than 600 delegates from different countries including India, China, Italy, Poland, Romania, Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova became its participants.

The main concept of the forum became the investment attractiveness of Pridnestrovie, the presentation of investment business plans and also new investment legislation of the republic.

One of the thematic sessions was dedicated to the perspective of the export of Pridnestrovian goods. Its moderator became the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the PMR, Yurii Ganin.

Today the domestic enterprises are sending their goods to more than 50 countries of the world. But if is it enough? The question was under consideration of Russian experts.

The experts focused the attention on real potential of export growth. Today the export to the CIS countries is up to 3/5 of all products exported by Pridnestrovie. At the same time, a significant part of the republic economy is the manufacturing industry, which has demand in Russia.

“The contributing factors for the development of economic cooperation are the result of special relations between Russia and Pridnestrovie as the absence of a language barrier, geographical proximity and state support,” said Maxim Chereshnev, the member of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee on Economic Integration and Foreign Economic Activity.

While considering the question of increasing export directly to the Russian Federatioт it is necessary to take into account an important fact: the country’s market is taking 10th place of the world. All goods produced in the republic can be exported from Pridnestrovie,  said the representatives of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“Today we saw the presentation of “Buket Moldavii ”, and somewhere in my long-time memory this brand exists, but today I have never seen it on the shelves at the shops in Russia. Therefore, goods need to be presented and a trading house in Moscow should be created, ”stated Maxim Chereshnev.

According to the expert words, if  some efforts will be made Pridnestrovie can also be the way out for Russia to the European Union with simplified customs procedures, duties, standardization and certification of goods.

The return way was also considered during the thematic session. Irina Bazhanova, the  Minister of the Agro-Industrial Complex and Trade of the Arkhangelsk Region, was talking about the possibility of supplying products that do not arrive due to the sanctions in the Russian Federation.

As the representative of the Arkhangelsk region notes, Russia now is badly in need of fruits: apples, pears and grapes — everything about what this land was famous back to the Soviet Union, can find its consumer and can be supplied in large volumes. And this is not the whole list of the demanded products.

“Today we’ve got 2 contracts concluded with your enterprises for the resumption of deliveries,” admitted Irina Bazhanova.

In the sphere of cooperation, both the regions and the Government of the Russian Federation are ready to accept our manufacturers and to meet them halfway. At the end of the session, the Minister of the Agroindustrial Complex and Trade of the Arkhangelsk Region of Russian Federation drew attention to the fact that all projects and proposals certainly must be presented in front of the major producers of the region.

On the second day at the frame of a session, moderated by the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the PMR, Vasily Kozhan, there were discussed the perspectives of the employment of young specialists.

The experts from Russia, Moldova and Germany shared with their practical experience.

The training of qualified specialists and their further employment is an important part of the economic development of any country. When work between the state, school and businesses has got off on the right foot, the great success can be achieved.

The experience of the Government of the Belgorod Region of Russian Federation, the German development agency “GIZ” and the agency “the East-West Economic Development” is similar in many items.

Dual education provides only 30% of theory and 70% of practice. Obligatory are the payment of student salaries at the enterprise and the provision of scholarships from the educational institution, as well as the supply by a full employee benefits.

This approach will minimize the turnover of employees staff and allows to master the modern profession in a short time. At the same time, enterprises also save money and efforts for finding the qualified specialists.

As it was noted by Tatyana Loginova, the Minister of Education of the PMR, for the realization of practice-oriented education there was created a consortium between the 6 educational institutions and dozen enterprises.

“We tried to take the best things from the practice of the Russian Federation, from the German experience and we are focusing on the orders of the employers,” – said the speaker.

According to the Minister of Education, today the Government is already considering the issue of reducing the tax assessment of the enterprises which will be included in the education system oriented on practice.

“I am sure that our dialogue will give a new impulse to the development of educational system,” concluded Tatiana Loginova.
